This Privacy Policy explains how WipeChats handles information when you use the browser extension.
1. Who is responsible?
WipeChats is independent third-party software. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by OpenAI. Privacy questions: info@domela.eu.
2. What information does WipeChats process?
To provide its functionality, WipeChats may process information from your ChatGPT conversation history, including:
- the conversation identifier;
- the conversation title;
- the date and time of the latest update;
- information needed to distinguish project and archived conversations;
- limited content from a selected conversation when needed to provide a short review preview.
3. Why is it used?
This information is used for the core WipeChats functions: finding, filtering, selecting, reviewing, deleting, and, where technically possible, verifying deletion.
4. No WipeChats cloud database
WipeChats does not operate its own server or database for collecting your chat history and does not create a separate online copy of your complete history. The extension operates in your browser and uses the available ChatGPT web functionality for the required actions.
5. Sharing and advertising
WipeChats does not sell, rent, or share your chat data with advertisers or data brokers and does not use chat data for personalized advertising. The ChatGPT service itself is subject to the terms and privacy policy of that service.
6. Local settings
Settings such as filter choices may be stored locally in your browser. WipeChats does not use them to build an online user profile.
7. Deletion and verification
After you explicitly confirm a deletion, WipeChats performs the removal. It then attempts, where technically possible, to verify that the conversation no longer appears in the available conversation list. WipeChats cannot restore a deleted conversation.
8. Security and passwords
WipeChats does not ask for your ChatGPT password and does not require a separate WipeChats account.
9. Retention
WipeChats does not maintain an online archive of your chat history.

This policy may be updated when functionality or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the current version.
